About Us

The practice was established in January 1984 by Mike Wingfield, John Clegg and Richard Hawkins, all formerly of Bovis, Westbury. John Blair joined the practice in July 1989 from a period in Kuwait with Posford Duvivier.

We have been involved with projects as diverse as cement, water, quarrying schemes, industrial, commercial and residential new works and refurbishment. We are currently working on projects throughout the UK.

We have many blue chip clients who have engaged us on prestigious contracts. Repeat business has ensued due to our ethos of solid management, technical ability and providing economical solutions to client needs.

We have recently formed Clegg Associates Limited maintaining our personnel and management style. Clegg Associates ensure that every project, no matter how large or how small, has the involvement of a Director, from conceptual stage right through to completion.

We use specialist software programmes within the practice and these include TEDDS for design in steel, concrete, masonry and timber and AUTOCAD 2002 for drafting. The latter has become the accepted standard for producing drawings in the industry and allows for rapid and accurate transfer of data between us and clients, contractors and other consultants. E-mail connects us to the outside world to send and receive documents and drawings.

We are aware of our design responsibilities under Construction (Design and Management) Regulations with regard to Health and Safety and this is considered throughout each project. Our employees are familiar with current risk assessment procedures and we make this our primary concern.

Clegg Associates are members of ACE, the Association for Consultancy and Engineering.
